Al Mezan Center for Human Rights joined a chorus of organizations concerned with the International Independent Commission of Inquiry established by the UN Human Rights Council to investigate Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip with regard to the most recent conflict. The organizations claim Israel has been obstructing the Mission’s work and are urging the international community to put pressure on the Israel to let the mission complete its fact-finding mission. The UNHRC passed a resolution creating the mission in July of 2014, but organizations in the area claim that the mission is being stalled by Israel by not letting the Commission visit areas within Gaza that have seen the worst of the conflict.
